Hypnotist Inventor

The first person to use the words “Hypnotism” and “Hypnotist” was Etienne de Cuvillers, another student of Mesmer. These names were based on the Greek word for “sleep”.

He was a French magnetizer and an early practitioner of mesmerism as a scientific discipline.
